Melania Trump has spent decades in front of cameras, yet even after years of public appearances, a single photograph can still send people back through the archives comparing how the first lady looked then with how she looks today.
That happened again during the recent Chinese state visit.
As Melania appeared alongside President Donald Trump for the formal White House events surrounding Chinese President Xi Jinping and first lady Peng Liyuan, close-up photographs captured her smiling more broadly than she often does in posed pictures.
