For years, one of the most familiar photographs of Nicole Kidman’s youngest daughter showed a tiny red-haired girl tucked securely against her mother’s side.
Faith Margaret Kidman Urban was still a toddler. Her hair fell in a mass of curls around her face, and she held a stuffed bunny while Nicole, hidden partly beneath sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat, carried her through an airport. There was nothing remotely glamorous about the moment. Faith was simply a little girl traveling with her mother.
More than a decade later, that image is almost startling to revisit.
Faith is 15 years old now, and on September 11, 2026, Nicole brought her youngest daughter to the U.S. Open in New York for one of their increasingly rare public outings together. The teenager who once fit comfortably in her mother’s arms walked beside her in a long polka-dot dress, dark brunette hair falling past her shoulders.
She was also nearly as tall as Nicole, who stands around 5-foot-11.
Vogue immediately noted that the family resemblance was becoming increasingly difficult to miss, while InStyle focused on Faith’s height and grown-up appearance. (Vogue)
Yet the photographs also reveal something Nicole has worked hard to preserve: unlike her older sister Sunday Rose, who is now pursuing modeling, Faith has spent most of her childhood away from the spotlight.
That is slowly beginning to change.
The Little Girl Nicole and Keith Waited So Long For
Faith Margaret was born in Nashville on December 28, 2010, to Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban through a gestational carrier.
Her arrival was particularly emotional for Nicole, who had spoken publicly about her long struggle to have children.
Nicole and Keith had welcomed their first daughter together, Sunday Rose, in July 2008. Faith arrived two and a half years later, and the couple initially kept the pregnancy and surrogacy extraordinarily private.
Even close friends reportedly did not know another baby was coming.
Faith joined a much larger family. Nicole was already mother to Bella and Connor, whom she adopted during her marriage to Tom Cruise, making Faith the youngest of Nicole’s four children. (People.com)
From the beginning, Nicole and Keith appeared determined to give Sunday and Faith something difficult for children of two enormously famous parents to obtain:
An ordinary childhood.
THEN — Faith as a Little Girl
For Years, Faith Was Rarely Seen
Nicole never completely hid her younger daughters, but neither did she turn them into public personalities.
Sunday and Faith grew up primarily in Nashville, far removed from the daily machinery of Hollywood.
Occasionally photographers captured the family at airports, on outings or arriving at events. Those images became some of the only glimpses fans had of Faith growing up.
And the earliest photographs are particularly memorable because of her hair.
Faith had soft curls that could appear strawberry-blonde or light brown depending on the photograph and lighting. Combined with her round childhood face, the curls gave her a distinctly different appearance from the teenager people see today.
Nicole herself has naturally curly hair, of course. Photographs from the beginning of her career show the actress with an enormous mane of red curls long before the sleek blonde styles that became associated with her later Hollywood image.
Seeing tiny Faith’s curls therefore created an immediate visual connection between mother and daughter.
But Nicole resisted turning that resemblance into a public spectacle.
Faith remained Faith.
She Quietly Appeared in Her Mother’s Projects Before Becoming a Teenager
Although Faith wasn’t growing up on red carpets, she wasn’t completely unfamiliar with her mother’s profession.
Both Faith and Sunday had small parts in several of Nicole’s projects.
The girls appeared as schoolchildren in Big Little Lies and had roles in The Undoing. They also contributed voices to The Angry Birds Movie 2. (People.com)
Those appearances were very different from launching them as child stars.
Nicole continued keeping school and family life at the center of their childhood.
Years later, Sunday would begin choosing a much more public path for herself.
Faith didn’t follow immediately.
That difference between the sisters has become particularly obvious over the past two years.
The First Big Surprise Came When Faith Appeared on a Red Carpet in 2024
In April 2024, Nicole received the AFI Life Achievement Award.
It was an enormous professional milestone — and an unusually significant family moment.
Nicole arrived with Keith, Sunday and Faith.
For many viewers, it was the first time they had gotten a clear look at both teenage daughters standing beside their parents at a major Hollywood event.
Faith was 13.
The toddler with the curly hair was gone.
In her place stood a tall teenager with long hair and features that immediately prompted comparisons with both parents.
Nicole was visibly proud to have her family there while receiving one of the film industry’s major career honors.
The appearance also represented a subtle change.
Faith was becoming old enough to decide whether she wanted to occasionally enter her mother’s public world.
Faith Growing Up — From Childhood to Her Early Teens
Then Both Sisters Stepped Into Fashion’s World
By 2025, Sunday Rose was beginning to establish an identity separate from her parents.
She made her runway debut for Miu Miu in Paris in 2024 and increasingly appeared at fashion events.
Faith remained considerably more private.
But in October 2025, both sisters accompanied Nicole to Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2026 show during Paris Fashion Week.
The appearance came during an enormously difficult period for the family, shortly after Nicole and Keith’s separation became public.
Nicole stood between her daughters.
Sunday and Faith were no longer little girls walking behind their parents.
They were teenagers standing beside their mother.
Photographs from that appearance made the contrast between the sisters increasingly visible too. Sunday had begun cultivating the distinctive high-fashion look associated with her modeling career, while Faith remained much more understated.
Then came another rare family appearance in March 2026.
At 15, Faith Joined Nicole and Sunday at a Chanel Oscars Party
On March 14, 2026, Nicole attended Chanel and Charles Finch’s annual pre-Oscars dinner at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Both daughters came with her.
Faith was 15 and Sunday was 17.

Sunday wore a short black Chanel dress with white detailing.
Faith chose a lighter outfit, pairing a pale top with a darker skirt.
Nicole stood between them.
Once again, Faith’s height attracted attention.
The little girl from those airport photographs had grown into a teenager approaching her famously tall mother’s height.
And her coloring had changed dramatically from the way many people remembered her.
Her hair now appeared long and brunette.

But Her Latest Appearance May Be the Most Striking Yet
On September 11, 2026, Nicole and Faith arrived together at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.
This time, Sunday wasn’t with them.
It was simply mother and daughter.
And because Faith has been photographed so selectively over the years, the images immediately attracted attention.
Nicole dressed casually by her standards, wearing straight-leg jeans with a pale blue striped Charvet shirt and white Chanel sneakers with black toe caps. She carried a cream suede Chanel bag. (Vogue)
Faith went in a completely different direction.
The 15-year-old wore a brown polka-dot Dôen maxi dress with thin straps, a white sweater draped around her shoulders and simple heeled sandals. She carried a suede Chanel flap bag that subtly coordinated with her mother’s accessory. (Page Six)
Her long dark hair was worn down.
Standing beside Nicole, Faith was almost eye-to-eye with her.
InStyle described the teenager as being nearly as tall as her mother. (InStyle)
For anyone whose mental image of Faith remained the curly-haired toddler Nicole once carried, it was quite a transformation.
The Resemblance to Nicole Is Becoming More Obvious
Vogue’s assessment of the new photographs was simple: despite the mother and daughter having very different ideas about courtside fashion, their resemblance was becoming increasingly apparent. (Vogue)
It is easy to understand why.
Faith has inherited some of Nicole’s long, delicate facial proportions and appears to have inherited the family’s height as well.
But describing her simply as a miniature Nicole misses something obvious in the photographs.
Faith doesn’t look exactly like her mother.
She has features from both sides of her family, and as she has grown older, those features have become more distinct.
The viral description calling her a brunette “version” of Nicole is therefore best understood as a fan comparison rather than a literal description.
What is undeniable is how dramatically she has grown.

At the U.S. Open, Mother and Daughter Even Shared a Chanel Detail
There was one particularly sweet detail in the new photographs.
Nicole and Faith weren’t dressed alike.
They did, however, carry remarkably similar Chanel bags.
Page Six noted that Faith’s brown suede flap bag coordinated with Nicole’s cylindrical suede Chanel purse, raising the possibility that the teenager had borrowed from her mother’s considerable Chanel collection. (Page Six)
Nicole has been an ambassador for the French fashion house since 2025, so access to Chanel is hardly a problem inside the Kidman household.
The matching detail gave the outing the feeling of a genuine mother-daughter fashion moment without making it look staged.
Nicole wore jeans and sneakers.
Faith wore a slip dress and heels.
Their bags quietly connected the two outfits.
Faith Hasn’t Followed Sunday Onto the Runway — At Least Not Yet
The distinction between Nicole’s daughters is becoming increasingly interesting.
Sunday Rose is now 18 and has actively pursued fashion.
She made her runway debut for Miu Miu in 2024 and has continued appearing within the fashion world. In May 2026, she accompanied Nicole to her first Met Gala, where mother and daughter appeared together on fashion’s most famous carpet. (Good Morning America)
Faith has not publicly launched the same kind of career.
At 15, she remains much more private.
Current reliable reporting does not establish that she has begun a professional modeling career, despite her appearances at fashion events with Nicole. (People.com)
That could change.
Or it may not.
Nicole has made clear that her daughters need to make their own decisions.
For now, Faith seems comfortable appearing beside her mother occasionally without turning those appearances into a full-time public identity.
She Has Already Appeared in a Beauty Campaign With Nicole
Faith has, however, begun dipping a toe into her mother’s professional world.
In 2025, she appeared alongside Nicole in a beauty advertisement, another indication that the intensely private childhood phase was beginning to loosen as she became a teenager. (People.com)
The progression has been gradual.
First came tiny acting and voice appearances.
Then family red carpets.
Then Chanel events.
Then the beauty campaign.
Now there are outings like the U.S. Open, where Faith is photographed not because she is hidden behind her famous mother but because people are increasingly curious about the teenager walking beside her.
Nicole seems conscious of that transition.
And she has been remarkably candid about how she approaches raising teenage daughters.
Nicole Has One Daily Rule Her Daughters Apparently Find Embarrassing
Earlier this year, Nicole revealed an unexpectedly sweet ritual she maintains with Sunday and Faith.
She makes them hug her.
Not a quick hug.
Two minutes.
“Both my daughters will kill me for saying this,” Nicole joked during an April 2026 appearance with Hoda Kotb before explaining that she insists on a two-minute daily embrace. (E! Online)
It sounds like exactly the sort of rule teenagers might roll their eyes at.
For Nicole, however, the ritual reflects something larger about the way she approaches motherhood.
She has spoken repeatedly about prioritizing physical affection and creating a stable emotional home for her children, particularly during periods when work requires her to travel.
The ritual has arguably taken on additional significance after the family’s enormous changes over the past year.
Faith and Sunday Have Been Especially Close to Their Mother Since the Divorce
Nicole and Keith separated in 2025 after 19 years of marriage, and their divorce was finalized in January 2026.
Faith was still 15.
Sunday was 17.
The sisters remained particularly close to Nicole during that transition, and family photographs throughout 2025 and 2026 increasingly showed the three women together. (People.com)
They traveled.
They attended fashion events.
In August 2026, Nicole shared photographs from a family trip to Iceland that included both daughters, her sister Antonia and other relatives. (People.com)
Faith’s life therefore changed in ways much larger than simply growing taller and changing her hairstyle.
She was moving through adolescence while her parents’ long marriage ended — all while having parents famous enough for those changes to become international news.
Nicole’s response appears to have been to keep her daughters close.
Nicole Still Sees Herself as Their Mother, Not Their Best Friend
As Sunday and Faith have grown into young women, Nicole has also spoken about an important distinction.
She does not believe her role is to become their best friend.
She wants to remain their mother — the person responsible for providing guidance, boundaries and a safe place to return to.
That philosophy comes partly from Nicole’s own relationship with her late mother, Janelle.
Kidman has repeatedly credited her mother with giving her the confidence to pursue an unconventional life and has said she tries to offer her own daughters similar support. (Woman & Home)
That becomes especially relevant now that Sunday is entering a public career.
Faith may eventually face the same decision.
Nicole knows what growing up around entertainment can mean.
She also knows what fame can take away.
Perhaps that helps explain why Faith was allowed to remain largely anonymous for so long.
Five Photographs Tell a Remarkable Growing-Up Story
Put photographs of Faith from different stages of her life together and the passage of time becomes startling.
There is Faith as a toddler, with her face framed by curls as Nicole carries her.
There is the young girl occasionally appearing with her family.
Then the 13-year-old arriving at Nicole’s AFI tribute.
The 15-year-old standing beside her mother and sister at Chanel.
And finally, the teenager walking into the U.S. Open in September 2026, nearly as tall as Nicole herself.
The transformation is dramatic because the public missed most of what happened between those photographs.
Faith did not grow up through daily Instagram posts or constant paparazzi appearances.
Years can pass between widely circulated images of her.
So each new appearance seems to skip an entire chapter.
She Is Still Only 15
That point is worth remembering amid all the “glow-up” commentary surrounding the new photographs.
Faith is still a teenager.
She turns 16 on December 28, 2026. (People.com)
Her appearance will continue changing, just as it has since those toddler photographs.
Whether she eventually follows Sunday into modeling, pursues acting, chooses something completely unrelated to entertainment or retreats from public life remains her decision.
Right now, reliable reporting describes her as far more private than her older sister.
And Nicole appears perfectly comfortable allowing that difference.
The Little Girl With the Bunny Has Almost Reached Her Mother’s Height
Perhaps that is why the newest photographs have resonated so strongly.
Nothing extraordinary is happening in them.
Nicole Kidman and her daughter are going to a tennis match.
They walk together.
They hold hands.
They carry Chanel bags.
Faith wears a polka-dot dress.
Yet beside the old photograph of Nicole carrying her tiny curly-haired daughter, the images tell an entire story without needing much explanation.
Fifteen years have passed.
The little girl Nicole once lifted into her arms is now almost as tall as she is.
Her curls have given way, at least in these latest photographs, to long brunette hair. Her childhood face has matured. And she is beginning to accompany her mother into public spaces on her own terms.
Vogue saw the resemblance.
InStyle noticed the height.
Fans noticed how dramatically she had grown.
But perhaps the sweetest detail in the U.S. Open photographs has nothing to do with Faith looking like Nicole at all.
At 15, almost tall enough to look her famous mother directly in the eyes, Faith was still photographed holding her mom’s hand. (Vogue)
